Looking after your GATE uniques Manchester & Napery items is really not that tricky...
CLEANING
Please wash before using. A regular warm or cold wash in your washing machine is perfect.
DRYING
Open air drying on the line is highly recommended - is there nothing better than climbing into a freshly made bed with the smell of sunshine on the sheets?
IRONING
If you are the pressed sort of person, the first secret is never let the Bed Linen dry completely – the drier it is, the harder you need to press – a good argument against going to Pilates, but still, who needs extra work? A quick water spray or a good steam will help if the Bed Linen is totally dry. The second secret is to stretch the fabric as you iron it – especially the embroidered bits. The third secret for a beautiful result after ironing, especially on the embroidery, is to iron the reverse side with a thick cover on the ironing board. But even I have to admit, this is a bit extreme, but a useful tip to file away anyway…
STORAGE
Your Bed Linen comes in it’s own Linen Press Bag – keep the full set together and store neatly – no more rummaging around in the cupboard for the King fitted sheet, only to start putting it on the bed and realise it is the Queen you have taken… what a bother!
Manchester has a few enemies in storage: Dampness, Mice, Moths and Light.
Sterling Silver
It may sound a bit of a bore, but the best way to clean your Sterling Silver jewellery is to use warm, soapy water and buff dry on a fluffy towel - put away your jewellery machines (nasty!) and those horrible chemicals. It is old fashioned advice from Yvonne, but works a treat.
Bracelets on Elastic
Some of the GATE uniques bracelets are threaded onto 1mm, durable elastic - knotted and fixed. Our reasons behind this method are numerous, but the most important one is who has time (or another spare person in the house) to fasten and clasp 5 bracelets on when rushing out the door? So much more time efficient to gently stretch and slip bracelets on and off as the mood arrives.
If our gorgeous bracelets are used as a slingshot, a hair scrunchy or a nervous twitch where one pings the bracelet onto one's arm repeatedly, they will most likely break - but you wouldn't do that would you?...
